The Kingdom of Thailand or shortly Thailand is located in south-eastern Asia. Until 1939 (and then again between 1945 and 1949), the country was known as "Siam".

Thailand got its independence in 1238 and was never colonized unlike many other Asian territories. Since 1932 when a revolution took place Thailand has been a constitutional monarchy.
